Library Profile



The central library is spread over 400 sq.Ft. The central library provides books, journals , E- Journals , E– Books & internet facility to the teaching staff & students. The library came into existence in the year 1967. The library is divided in different sections like Reference book section, Stack area, Digital library with internet, periodical section, Reading room. The library has 36877 books, 09 Journals and 12 magazines. The library also provides Location of Information, Indexing, Current Awareness services, Selective Dissemination Information, Photo copy & Print copy services, for the staff & students. The library aims to be fully automated in due course of time. We try and provide the best of the services to our ability for proper and smooth functioning of the college.

Sections


Textbook Section

Textbooks prescribed in the syllabus are kept here for the benefit of the users. Depending on demand, number of copies is increased. Previous year question papers are also kept here and users can take photocopies of the same.

Reference Section

The reference collection comprises of reference books prescribed in the syllabus, dictionaries, encyclopedias, handbooks, directories, maps, atlases, costly and rare books. A separate reference section arranging with 40 seating capacity.

Current Periodicals Section

The library subscribes to 09 Journals and 12 magazines both national and international, which are displayed on separate racks. The latest issue is displayed on the racks and back volumes are kept beneath the desk of the rack, College is also buying six Daily News papers.

Arrangement of books

The Library has adopted open access system which facilitates the readers to go to the bookshelves directly and select books of their choice freely, which is seen as the greatest advantage to the users. The books are arranged in classes. These are:
